Four Way Camera

I started thinking about those moments we capture, and by choosing to capture those moments what do we actually miss. This was about looking at more that the dimensions of the photo frame but looking at the senses, or even what was going on behind you at that moment you took the photo. I started to develop this by making a four way camera to ensure that I caught everything at that moment. I was still using the confinements of a 2D photograph but just making sure that I captured everything i could. Would this tell us more about the moment?

To test this i went to Jamie's opening night of an exhibition he was putting on.

The results were quite interesting and they started to make me think about

1. How these would be viewed (as it is not enough to have a device that takes interesting images it needs to be viewed in such a way that this can be appreciated.

2. How this device can be used in other circumstances. (when I was using the four way camera I started to notice that you could take pictures of peoples feet and could tell as much about the event. What kind of shoes were people wearing, who was standing with who, how many people were there) You can tell a lot about a person from the shoes they wear, and also a lot about an event. The device had started to cause debate, the way it was used, the outcomes that it had. It sparked collaborative use. In the sense that I could only take a photo if three other people wanted to take a photo at that moment, it made us think about those moments we really wanted to capture.
