Colour of the Day

To try and create the idea of compression myself I decided to do this through photography. I therefore took a photo every five minutes of my day. The idea was to try and document everything that I was doing and then layer them up to create a palimpsest of my own. It was important however to find a way of compressing the images. I decided to take an average RGB reading for every photograph, this was to get a a single colour. I then took averaged these colours out to get a colour for the day.

The idea was to then take these colours and design objects to help induce that particular colour of the day. I have just a few examples of some of the pictures that I took. The images were taken of what I was doing. What you see in the image is what I am doing in real life. Over the period of the day this was then turned into a colour. The idea being that over a month you could have a colour or perhaps over a year.
